2 hours
of your time
Online Programs are run at the same day and time, each week, with 1 hour for mentoring and 1 hour committed to mentor discussion, support and additional training for you.
As schools moved to online during the pandemic we had to quickly adapt our in-person, face to face programs. This meant creating a safe and engaging online program in order to continue supporting young people.
Despite some of the challenges 100% of schools who received online rated it excellent or very good. The outcomes we saw from online programs were strong enough for us to use this platform to shape a new mentoring delivery model.
Online mentoring makes it possible to reach more young people wherever they are, particularly in regional and rural areas.
There are many similarities to our regular face-to-face program. The major difference is that the mentoring sessions are not based on school premises, instead you will meet with your mentee each week online using a Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
You will be trained in exactly the same way and will get all the support and information you need at every stage of your journey with Raise.
Online Programs are run at the same day and time, each week, with 1 hour for mentoring and 1 hour committed to mentor discussion, support and additional training for you.
We’ll teach you all you need to know, so you just need to be willing to do our industry leading 3-hour online training and 1 full day (or 2 x half days) of group mentor training.
Online programs are fully managed by a qualified counsellor who will be on-hand to facilitate and provide support in the online mentoring setting.
As a mentor you will need to provide working with children and national police checks before starting the training, which covers youth safety.
You will be required to logon from wherever you are, with a strong wifi/internet connection to meet each week via an online platform.
The positive impact from online mentoring comes from showing up every week, building the trust and a relationship across the 23 week program.
Online mentoring is most suitable for those who don't have a school based program in their area or for those who are really keen to mentor but cannot make the logistics of our face-to-face program work - for example travel to a school is too far or work commitments don't enable the travel time, but you have sufficient time and access to jump into a private space for mentoring online for an hour each week.
