Providing an early
intervention strategy

At Raise, we know that early 'upstream' intervention with a mentor makes all the difference in the life of a young person. Since 2008 we have delivered 867 early intervention youth wellbeing programs right across Australia.

We've recruited, screened and trained over 7200 volunteers to become youth mentors. These incredible, everyday people show up week after week as an independent, caring and trusted mentor. Together we've been upstream to support over 10,700 young people. Every program is managed by our qualified counsellors who oversee the smooth, safe and successful delivery of our programs.

Equipping young people with tools
they need for today and the future

We cannot remove the barriers and challenges that young people may experience throughout their adolescence and the rest of their lives.

We can however, through our program, equip young people with the tools, skills and resources they need to support their mental health, social and emotional wellbeing and engagement with school. Empowered to use these skills, teenagers are more able to navigate the complexity of adolescence and the challenges life may throw at them.

As well as coping better with the challenges of today, our program essentially ‘fills their backpack’ for the future. The skills and tools they learn become accessible go-to strategies for the rest of their lives.

Creating a ripple effect with community wide impact

  • June, Mentor

“I would have benefited so much from this as a teenager and it’s awesome to give your time to someone else.”

  • Jake, Mentee

“My mentor is very caring, she listens, she gives good feedback, good advice, she isn’t judgmental, overall absolutely AMAZING.”

  • Ian, School Principal

“The opportunity to provide an hour of personalised time for a student from an adult every week is a gift. In an ideal world I would provide Raise mentoring for every student from Year 7-12 who wanted to have a mentor.”

  • Phil, Parent

“Lockdown was a difficult time and my son became depressed. But mentoring was the highlight of his week and helped him get through.”
